Annie Chipeta

Annie Chipeta is a seasoned development practitioner with extensive experience in access to justice and disability inclusion programming and policy framing. She has worked on multiple governance projects in Malawi, pushing the agenda for good governance. Her previous work involved working at the interface of government, civil society, and international development organisations to develop and implement programmes and policy for governance and inclusion in the justice sector that promote justice, accountability and gender mainstreaming in governing institutions.

She has worked on the European Union (EU) Chilungamo Justice and Accountability project, United Nations Development Programme Governance project, United Nations Office on drugs and crime, and the Foreign Commonwealth and Development office (FCDO) in Malawi, dealing with the multifaceted sector of governance to break down barriers to access to public services in the justice sector, promote human rights and promote dignified life by promoting the rule of law.

Annie has experience in public policy having also worked in the United States Senate Foreign policy committee through which she has been exposed to experiences of policy analysis at the international level and management of bilateral relations. She is a Mandela Washington Fellow who is part of a community of young African leaders committed to innovation and positive impact in the world.
